Rationale: Participants are literally “working in their customers’ shoes” for the duration of the course. The experience enhances business acumen, technical knowledge, leadership, negotiation, communication, teamwork, and decision-making skills while understanding the key issues their clients confront.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Participants work in competing teams to run their own simulated manufacturing business. The goal of each business is primarily to operate profitably while pursuing other strategic objectives. The business simulation runs over four rounds, interspersed with technical training and sales / relationship management roleplaying.

TARGET GROUP

People involved in selling professional services (e.g. Consulting, Financial Services, IT, Marketing, Healthcare, Legal etc) to companies, needing to learn more about how companies operate and the challenges their clients face in managing such businesses.

COURSE AIMS

To build and enhance participants’:

    • Business acumen, by following a logical progression that helps them make the right decisions to drive the best results for their company, stakeholders and clients;
    • Financial literacy, by analysing, discussing and interpreting complex financial data that drives their decision-making in key areas; and
    • Relationship management and selling skills, by enabling them to practice realistic client sales negotiation scenarios and gain feedback for improvement.
